Bulldogs sweep season-opening pair from Indiana Tech

Natalie Garcia belted a home run, drove in three runs and scored three times and Caroline Curran gave up one earned run in a complete game, as Cumberland swept a doubleheader against Indiana Tech, 4-2 and 7-3, in the season opener for both teams Thursday at the CU Softball Field.

The Bulldogs (2-0) used three-run innings in both games to take control, erasing early leads for the Warriors (0-2) in both contests. Jessica Roper singled home a run and Allison Blackwood drove in a pair of runs in a three-run third inning in the first game and Garcia plated two runs with a double and she scored on a single by Megan Lavery in a three-run second inning of the second game.
