Covington ticket sales climbing
Nov 02, 2012 4:20 pm
Country music fans can help Wilson County while listening and watching a top artist perform in Watertown.
Ticket sales are underway for a Bucky Covington concert Nov. 17 at Watertown’s Stardust Drive-In Theatre to benefit two Wilson County organizations.
“Our goal is to sell 2,000 tickets,” said Jeremy Hayes, president of Music With a Purpose. “We’re climbing closer to that goal.”
The concert, which is being offered by the Middle Tennessee organization Music With a Purpose, will benefit the Mt. Juliet Help Center and the Bridge Fellowship.
“The team at Music With a Purpose hopes that this concert will go a long way in helping provide revenue for people working to make our community a better place to live,” said Hayes.
Covington was an American Idol finalist in 2006 and became country music’s best-selling debut artist in 2007 with his song “A Different World.”
Country artists Alicia Smith and Josh Mirenda will open the show.
Gates will open at 10 a.m., and opening acts will begin at noon.
Fans can buy tickets online at musicwithapurpose.com, through Middle Tennessee State University’s Up ‘Til Dawn student group or at The Lebanon Democrat’s office.
“With such worthwhile charitable organizations Bucky Covington’s concert will reach, it was The Lebanon Democrat’s honor to provide a location where fans could get tickets,” said Jared Felkins, The Democrat’s director of content. “Our office is conveniently located, so the decision to make it easier for people to enjoy this concert was an easy one. We stand behind Bucky Covington and his efforts to make our communities better.”
Anyone buying tickets online can enter the code MJPARKS for $5 of each ticket to go toward the Mt. Juliet Parks and Recreation department.
Tickets are $15, and children ages 12 and under will be admitted free with a parent’s paid ticket.
