DCA makes fast work of Saints

From staff reports

MT. JULIET — Will Reddick threw three touchdown passes, including two to Chance Jones, while James Douglas also scored twice to lift Donelson Christian past Mt. Juliet Christian 42-0 Friday night at Suey Field.

DCA darted to a 28-0 first-quarter lead as Reddick whipped a 21-yard touchdown to Jones and a 29-yarder to Douglas, who capped the period with a 25-yard interception return to the house. In between, James Peterson punched in a 14-yard scoring run.

Reddick closed the scoring with a 57-yard pass to Jones early in the third quarter as the Wildcats climbed to 4-4 for the season and 1-1 in East-Middle Region 2 play.

"They came out of the gate with guns ablazing," said Mt. Juliet Christian coach Jake Roberts, whose Saints slipped to 1-7, 0-2. "We had four or five turnovers and the capitalized on that.

"They're a very-well coached football team. They've got some great players. It was good for our boys to play them. They're good competition."

Elliott Lee led Mt. Juliet Christian with 42 rushing yards on 12 carries while Noah Wilson added 23 on nine. Rick Vanmali completed 3 of 15 passes for 32 yards.

Mt. Juliet Christian will travel to Murfreesboro next week for a 7 p.m. game Friday at Middle Tennessee Christian.
