Police seek hit-and-run driver

A pedestrian was hit in a hit-and-run in Fred’s parking lot Monday afternoon.

Debra Mapp of Highland Court was leaving Fred’s at about 1:40 p.m. when a black vehicle hit her in the knee as she stepped off the curb, said Lebanon Officer Wayne Howard.

Howard said Mapp was not seriously injured, but paramedics took her to University Medical Center as a precaution.

According to police, the victim said the vehicle was black, but she could not identify a tag number. She said the driver was an elderly woman who appeared to be in her late 70s, according to Howard.

Police are still trying to determine the identity of the driver.
