Lady Wildcats follow two shutout wins with two 2-1 losses

HENDERSONVILLE — Wilson Central came out on the wrong end of a pair of 2-1 losses, to Riverdale and Dickson County, Wednesday night in the Commando Classic at Drakes Creek Park.
Riverdale won despite getting just a bunt single as the Lady Warriors took advantage of a fourth-inning leadoff walk and a couple of errors to grab the 2-1 lead.
Hannah Bodenhorn walked four while striking out two for Central.
Allie Bennett's first-inning RBI staked Central to the early lead. She finished with two hits while Ashley Eldridge doubled and Lauren Stavinoga singled.
Against Dickson County, Central struck for a 1-0 lead in the third inning before the Lady Cougars scored twice in the final inning off sophomore pitcher Morgan Powell, who allowed four hits.
Bennett, Karlie Odum and Alexis Henry had the Lady Wildcats' hits as Central slipped to 2-2.
Wilson Central opened its season Tuesday night with a pair of wins in the Commando Classic, 17-0 over White House and 1-0 over Siegel.
Against White House, every Lady Wildcat batter scored at least once while racking up 11 hits and seven walks.
Kendall Eden drove in three runs on as many hits while Stavinoga's two hits included a two-run homer and four RBI. Eldridge added two hits, two RBI and four runs scored. Winning pitcher Powell knocked in three runs on one hit. Bennett and Brittany Wiseman each had an RBI and a hit. Odum singled while Rachel Tichenor walked three times and Henry twice.
Against Siegel, Brittany Wiseman scored in the second inning on an error after reaching base on an error and advancing on a Tichenor sacrifice bunt.
Bodenhorn pitched a six-inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
Stavinoga tripled while Tichenor and Odum singled for Central's three hits.
