Meals on Wheels to hold car wash fundraiser
Mid-Cumberland Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining Program volunteers and workers are always looking for more ways to serve local seniors a hot meal and a little companionship. The organization delivers noon meals to senior citizens 60 and over in the Lebanon and Mt Juliet area.
Maggie Brazil heads up the Lebanon program. She knows people will step up to help these seniors in need if they know how to help.
"One in five senior citizens in Tennessee is faced with choosing between buying food or paying for their prescriptions every month," she said. "This makes Tennessee the fifth worst state in the country for senior hunger."
