Vernice Campbell Gipson
Funeral services for Mrs. Gipson are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with the Rev. George Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-8 p.m. and Thursday after 11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Mrs. Gipson, 69, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Born April 6, 1943, in Grundy County, she was the daughter of the late Taft Campbell and Georgia Lee Smart Campbell Walker. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with New Life Ministries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jeanette Campbell and her stepfather, Howard Walker.
She is survived by her husband of over 51 years, James Gipson; two sons, Greg Gipson and Keith Gipson; granddaughter, Rachel Gipson; great-granddaughter, Kianna Gipson; and sister, Berniece (Robert) Gipson, all of Lebanon.
Pallbearers will be Bobby and Myron Conder, Ronnie and Robert Gipson, Randy Fatherston and Shane Gipson.
Charles Dewey Parson Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Parson will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ed Britt officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Parson, 68, of Lebanon, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Mr. Parson was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from UPS. He was the son of the late Charles Dewey Parson Sr. and Hazel Lee McFall Parson.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Turner.
He is survived by wife, Frances Carrigan Parson; sons, Brian (Tina) Parson and Jason (Stephanie) Parson; sister, Nancy (Eddie) Graves; brother, Mike Parson; grandchildren, Tanner, Bryce, Savannah, Eston and Emma; nephews and niece, Johnny Turner, Keith Turner, Neil Graves, Rodney Carrigan and Dana Carrigan Hartman.
Family will serve as active pallbearers.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Alive Hospice.
Guy Edward Phipps
Mr. Phipps, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at University Medical Center.
Services for Mr. Phipps will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be Friday in the Middle Tn. Veterans Cemetery, Nashville.
Dean Dunham Reed
Visitation for Mrs. Reed will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Bro. Barry Keene to officiate the services. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Reed, 92, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 in the Sumner Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Reed was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ and a former employee of Texas Boot Co.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Madie McBride Dunham; husbands, John Adams and Lee A. Reed; two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Jackie) Holleman; brother, Alex (Frances) Dunham Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will serve as active pallbearers.
Mr. Whited, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at University Medical Center.
Services are incomplete. Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
