Beulah D. Avant
Beulah D. Avant, age 93, of Alexandria, died October 2, 2012. She is the widow of Clay Avant. They were married June 12, 1940.
She is preceded in death by four siblings, Taft Davis, Paul Davis, Chester Davis, and Zula Davis Coley. She is survived by her daughter, Jane A. Fly of Nashville; grandchildren, Christopher (Mary) Fly of Augusta, Ga., Susan Fly of Dallas, Texas and Jonathan Fly of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Reid, Avery, and Max Fly of Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Avant graduated from DeKalb County High School and received an associate’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. She was a teacher before working for many years at The Alexandria Bank and Trust followed by Watertown Bank. Mrs. Avant was a charter member of OES, Chapter 417. She was a member of Alexandria United Methodist Church and Smithville United Methodist Church. She was also active in many community organizations in Alexandria.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Murfreesboro location of Alive Hospice or the charity of your choice.

Brenda Kay Midgett Robinson
Brenda Kay Midgett Robinson, age 67, of Mt. Juliet, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012.
Mrs. Robinson is the daughter of the late, Chelcer Dale and Allie Jane Grisham Midgett. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Troy Sawvell and brother, Billy Dale Midgett.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Robinson; daughter, Dana (Jason) Loggins; sister, Linda Faye (Richard) Julian; grandchildren, Radley and Lindsey Loggins; very special aunt, Gladys David; niece and nephews, Valissa Lane, Charlie Brock, Bronwyn Ashley, Mike Midgett; mother-in-law, Ola D. Robinson; “adopted grandchildren,” Bailey and Abby; and beloved dog, Max.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Dr. Craig Goff officiating. Entombment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jason Loggins, Radley Loggins, Charlie Bock, Mike Midgett, Chris Robinson and Baily Robinson.

Arif Siddiqi
Arif Siddiqi passed away on October 5, 2012 at age 46. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon (at Stone Mansion, 416 Rome Pike) on Tuesday from noon until the service. The Memorial Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
Survivors include wife of 20 years, Tabatha Siddiqi; daughter: Victoria Rose Siddiqi; mother: Asta Siddiqi; siblings: Leni (P.J.) Siddiqi, Anya Siddiqi, and Ashruf (Ruth) Siddiqi; nieces: Pari Siddiqi, Dana Austin, and Jessie Austin; and father-in-law: Clyde Davis.
He is preceded in death by father Zubair Siddiqi, son Elijah Aaron Siddiqi, and mother-in-law- Maxine Davis.

Merrill Wise
Merrill Wise, of Nashville, passed away Oct. 4, 2012 at age 79.
Interment will be in Nashville National Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2012.
