Funeral Services for Mr. Franklin will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with Dr. Larry Locke, Bro. Kevin Owen, and Bro. Jim Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25, and from 9 a.m. until the service on Saturday.

Mr. Franklin, 75, of Watertown died on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at University Medical Center. A member of College Hills Church of Christ, a 1954 Graduate of Lebanon High School where he was named First Team All Mid-State in football, a 1959 Graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he also received his maste’s degree and was named First Team All OVC Defensive Tackle and Little All American. 

He taught at Castle Heights Military Academy for 15 years and at Watertown High School for 15 years and coached football most of his teaching career. He also worked for TRW nine years as an employment manager. He served on the Wilson County School Board for eight years, was a Lebanon City Councilman for eight years, a District 7 Wilson County Commisioner, was on the board of Directors at Liberty State Bankand was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.

Mr. Franklin was recognized in 2008 as an MTSU Golden Raider and the first to be inducted into the Lebanon High School All –Sports Hall of Fame.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Comer and Milbra Franklin; brother, Holland Franklin; and sisters, Jo Emily Turner and Delores Crunk. 

Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Georgia Franklin; children, Benjamin Don (Ruth) Franklin Jr. of Lebanon, Jeffrey Wendell (Sherry) Franklin of Cookville, Jennifer Kay (Richard) Winfree of Lancaster, and Comer Anderson “Andy” (Monica) Franklin of Lebanon; brother, Jerry (Thersa) Franklin of Lebanon; grandchildren, Rachel Emily Franklin, Benjamin Jacob Franklin, Ashley Lynn Franklin, Melissa Anderson Franklin, and Brooke Azilee Bowen; and several nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Don Franklin Jr., Jeffery Wendell Franklin, Comer Anderson “Andy” Franklin, Benjamin Jacob Franklin, James Vaden and Richard Winfree. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Andrews Life Group at College Hills Church of Christ, Mr. Franklin’s former Watertown High School and Castle Heights Military Academy football players and his Lebanon High School and MTSU football teammates.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lebanon High School All Sports Booster Club, 415 Harding Drive, Lebanon, TN 37087 Attn: Regina Robinson.

Lavern W. Haynes

Graveside services for Mr. Haynes will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 in Wilson County Memorial Gardens with Pastor John Hunn officiating.

Mr. Haynes, 86, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at The VA in Murfreesboro. He was a WW II Marine Veteran and retired from the insurance business.

He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Robert and Eula Frances Haynes; and brothers, William Thomas, Vester Lee, C.S., Tilford and Dudley Haynes.

Survivors include: brother, Joe Bob Haynes of Lebanon.

Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Roberta V. Moore

Memorial services for Ms. Moore will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25 at Sellars Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Moore, 71, of Lebanon, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.

She was preceded in death by parents, Hardy Seymour and Emma Mae Webb Carter; and sister, Jona C. Carter.

Survivors include: companion, Michael Stillman; and sons, Ernest James Cosby II and Carl (Janice) Moore.

Sandra Watkins

Ms. Watkins, 54, of Lebanon, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011. Arrangements are incomplete.

Sellars Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
