Mark David Anderson
The family of Mr. Anderson will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon (at Stone Mansion, 416 Rome Pike) on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
Mark Anderson passed away on March 24, 2013 at age 44.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Riley Anderson; children, Ashley Anderson and Sierra Anderson; parents, David and Helen Anderson; brothers, Matthew David Anderson, Scott David Anderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Jeanne Riley; nieces and nephews, Tayler, Autumn, Zachary, Eric and Bailey Anderson. Shirley Ann Banta-Clegg
Ms. Banta-Clegg, 65, of Lebanon, died Friday.
Arrangements are by Bond Memorial Chapel.
Phyllis M. Berthold Furney
There will be a memorial service for Ms. Furney on Saturday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 105 Peyton Rd, Lebanon.
Ms. Furney, 84 years young, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon, of natural causes. She was born May 18, 1928 and raised in Utica, N.Y. by Joseph and Agnes Marie Berthold. Phyllis worked at General Electric and as a phone operator for Bell Telephone in Utica. She married Frank A. Furney in July of 1946 moving to Florida and then New Jersey where she raised five children, Phyllis M Ririe, Frank J. Furney, Kathryn Longo, Suzanne Furney and Elizabeth Esparza. After her divorce in 1976 Phyllis worked as a waitress in the executive dining hall at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in Raritan, N.J. for 10 years before moving to Doylestown, Pa. with her son Frank and his wife Wendy where she worked as a cashier at Erkert Drugs for four years before she retired.
After moving to Lebanon with her son and family she became very active with her church, Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1975 until Oct. 2011, teaching Sunday School, doing home teaching and running the Church Library.
In addition to her five children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, David, Justin and Suzanne Ririe; Mandy, Marta and Eric Esparza; Frank Longo, Vanessa Ferguson, Wendy Hardy and April Furney. There are 9 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, James, Nathan, Noah, Hailey, Jonah, Darien, Ethan and Mikayla.
Phyllis loved to bake and we were never without cookies, cakes and zucchini or banana bread. She loved all her family with all her heart and never missed a birth or birthday always pulling all the family together to celebrate. All will remember her sweet personality and kind heart. Phyllis will be greatly missed by her family, friends and those she had touched in her life.

Albert Ellis Gardner
Mr. Gardner, 57, of Madison, died Friday.
Funeral services were Monday at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet. Interment was in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel and Monday from noon until 2 p.m. at the church.
William Edward “Eddie” Poole
Mr. Poole, 90, of Mt. Juliet, died Thursday.
Services were Monday at 10 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment with military honors will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and Monday at 9 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel.
J. W. Thompson
Funeral services for Mr. Thompson are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Cathey officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Wednesday 2-6 p.m. and Thursday after 11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Thompson, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at University Medical Center.
Born in Davidson County, he was the son of the late Joseph Wesley and Edna Cline Thompson. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Barton’s Creek Baptist Church. He started working for Middle Tennessee Electric on July 23, 1945 and retired July 31, 1987.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Kolbe Thompson on May 18, 2012; sister, Edna Thompson (Robert B.) Ligon; brothers-in-law, Charles and William Kolbe; sister-in-law, Emma (Ed) Allison; nephew, Bryan Allison; and great-niece, Tracy Chaffin.
He is survived by niece, Rose Ligon Coles; nephew, Joseph Wilson (Cynthia) Ligon; great-nephews, Peyton and Wesley Ligon and Jordon and Justin Chaffin; and the Kolbe family, John (Ann) Kolbe their son, Kevin (Lisa) Kolbe and their children, Elias, Brandon and Ashland; Robert (Charlotte) Kolbe and their son, Michael Kolbe; Gerald Kolbe and his son, Wes (Cayla) Kolbe and his daughter, Chelsea Kolbe; Ruth Kolbe and Brenda Kolbe; Edward Allison, Cynthia Fudaly, and Norma Nelson; and so many loved and honored friends, they could not all be acknowledged.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Kolbe, Don Hayes, Don Hobbs, Guy Dockery, Ronnie Wright, Billy Joe Sanford, John Alsup, Eddie Reed, Eddie Vaught, Kenneth Underwood, Sue Shelton, Brenda Kolbe, Pat Callis and Dimples Hayes.
Active pallbearers will be Tony Shelton, Bob Burns, Wes, Michael, John and Robert Kolbe.
