Funeral services for Mrs. Joiner, conducted by Rev. Danny Sellars, will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 1 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon (at Stone Mansion, 416 Rome Pike) with visitation from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Joiner, 42, passed away on March 28, 2013.
She was preceded in death by brother, Jesse Mendez and nephew, Johnny Mendez.
Survivors include: husband, Roger Joiner; daughter, Jasmine Joiner; son, Travis Joiner; parents, Jesus and Lenore Mendez; siblings, Alfredo Mendez Jr., Brenda Altomare, Sandra McCaffety, and Patsy Garza; niece, Jennifer Garza; nephews, Henry Garza Jr., Mikey Garza and Rodney Garza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Beatrice (Shorty) Rollins
Funeral services for Mrs. Rollins are scheduled to be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, March 31 at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes. Rev. Jermey Vanatta, Rev. Billy Trice and Rev. Richard Buckner will officiate and Entombment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery. Visitation with the Rollins family will be at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon on Saturday from 3-7 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes.
Mrs. Rollins, 94, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born June 15, 1918 the daughter of the late Jessie Lou Parker and Robert Stanton Preston. She married Austin Rollins on July 19, 1936 and he preceded her death after 56 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Joe Preston and Willie Forrest Rollins. After moving to Lebanon on March 8, 1950, together they operated Rollins Garage & Auto Salvage. She enjoyed church and attended the Southside Baptist Church. She loved her family, her animals, and the color pink. She never met a stranger and fed the multitudes.
Mrs. Rollins is survived by daughter, Evelyn Lawson and son-in-law, Wayne Lawson of Lebanon and sister, Edna Wilson of Gordonsville.
The Rollins family request that donations in Mrs. Rollins memory be made to the Southside Baptist Church.
