Ronald A. Hardy

Services for Mr. Hardy will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 30, at J.C. Hellum Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Butler officiating. Interment will be in Gladeville Cemetery. Family visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. There will be no public viewing.

Mr. Hardy, 56, formerly of Mt. Juliet, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, in New Castle, Del.

Survivors include: wife of 36 years, Nadine Hardy; mother, Mildred Hardy; children, Reginald Hardy, Erica (Marcellus) Wilkins, Ronnie T. Butler, Caress and Curtis Jackson; many other relatives and friends.

Shirley Buckingham Hobbs

Funeral services for Ms. Hobbs will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Watson officiating. Interment will follow at the Jackson Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 29 and 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Ms. Hobbs, 67, of Lebanon died Friday, April 27, 2012, at University Medical Center. Born in January of 1945 in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lula Mae Watkins Buckingham. She was a homemaker and a member of the Philadelphia Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Paul Rhea Buckingham and Jerry Dale Buckingham.

Survivors include: children, Chip (Amanda) Wilson of Dickson; Makel Wilson of San Diego, Calif; and Kelly Sparkes of Jacksonville, Ark.; sister, Linda (J.C.) O’Neal of Lebanon; sisters-in-law, Betsy Buckingham and Donna Buckingham; grandchildren, Kurstie, Kara, Kaitlyn and Kayla Wilson and Madison and Paden Sparkes; and great-granddaughter, Lainey Wilson.

L.C. Vandergriff

Funeral services for Mr. Vandergriff will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown conducted by Rev. Rodger McCann. Interment in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, April 28 and 10 a.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Vandergriff, 92, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at his home. He was born in October of 1919 in Dekalb County to the late Lessie Vandergriff and Mary Elizabeth Norton Vandergriff. He was a carpenter and his church affiliation was Watertown First United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Army in WWII and was a Prisoner of War.

He was preceded in death by: parents, sisters, Mary Barrett and Gertie Keaton; and brother, Floyd Vandergriff.

Survivors include: parents; wife of 71 years, Louise Ellis Vandergriff of Watertown; niece, Betty (Gary) Mullican of Lebanon; nephew, Gene Vandergriff of Nashville; great-nephew, Donald (Cynthia) Mullican of Lebanon; great great-nephews, Jonathan and Matthew Mullican; and sisters-in-law, Effie Lee Ellis of Smithville and Flora Ellis of Smyrna.

Pallbearers will be Gary Mullican, Donald Mullican, Jonathan Mullican, Matthew Mullican, Gene Vandergriff, Jerry Stephens, David Dunn and Robert Johnson.
