Funeral services for Mr. Jenkins are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Denton and Bro. Mike Shelby officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery at Tuckers Crossroads. Visitation will be Thursday 2-8 p.m. and Friday after noon at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Jenkins, 47, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at University Medical Center.
Born April 15, 1966, in Wilson County, he was the son of Newell Jenkins and the late Thelma Bush Jenkins. He was a life-long farmer and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Greg Marsh.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ria Campbell Jenkins; three children, Aaron, Tabitha and Tiffany Jenkins; father, Newell Jenkins; sister, Diane Jenkins Marsh; and niece, Lorie Marsh, all of Lebanon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Thompson, Tom Bobo, Stratton Bone, Gordon Bone, Hal Bone, Jeremy Ash, Jack Lowery Sr., J.D. Lowery, Blake Bass, Brandon Bass, Ronnie Walker and Jamie Walker.
Active pallbearers will be Jay Moore, Danny Turnbull, Brian McKinney, Joe Taylor, Robert Taylor, Steven Hemontolor, William Walpole and Todd Wright.
Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund.
Jerry Carl Shearer
Visitation for Mr. Shearer will be held on Friday, May 24 from 4-6 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 6 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Pastor Rob Amason will officiate the services.
Mr. Shearer, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna. Mr. Shearer was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War and owner of Florida Trucking Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Preston and Adella Shelton Shearer; sister Jeanie Pate; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by wife of 28 years, Mary Shearer; daughter, Christy (Melvin) Paulk; grandsons, Nathan and Dylan Paulk; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Bay; numerous cousins and a niece; and special friends, Eddie and Joslyn Conrad.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made in his memory to The American Legion.
John W. Shelton
Funeral services for Mr. Shelton will be held Saturday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Danny Sellars and the Rev. Fred Vantrease officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m., Friday from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Mr. Shelton, 74, of Mt. Juliet, passed away May 22, 2013. Mr. Shelton was a SCAN volunteer for 12 years.
Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Gray and Carl Dewitt Shelton; and brother, James Shelton.
He is survived by wife, Martha Alexander Shelton; stepchildren, Glenda (Wayne) Weaver, Beverly (Larry) Casey, Elaine (Rick) James and Jimmy (Patricia) Hollis; brother-in-law, George Alexander; and stepgrandchildren, Stacey and Christy Hollis.

Johnny Ray Thompson Sr.
Services for Mr. Thompson will be 12 p.m. Saturday, May 25 at the Garden of Prayer. Interment will be at Mt. Lebanon. Visitation will be Friday from 3-6 p.m. at Neuble Monument Funeral Home LLC and one hour prior to service.
Mr. Thompson, 61, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, May 16. He was a graduate of Cumberland University, MTSU, and George Peabody School for Teachers at Vanderbilt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Finley Thompson and Mandy McCathern; son, Johnny Ray Thompson Jr.; granddaughters, Tatianna Thompson and Kristen Bryant; sisters, Rachel Roper, Joyce Neuble and Deborah Thompson; and brother, Thomas Edward Thompson.
Survivors include daughters, Tanya Thompson Mitchell and LaToya (Kyle Bryant) Thompson; three grandchildren, Mikayla Thompson, Kyle Bryant Jr. and Krista Bryant; brothers. Terry Thompson and Fin Thompson; and sisters, Mary (Roy) Moore, Loretta Thompson and Frances Garrett.
