James Wilson 'Pa' Dillard

Services for Mr. Dillard will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Rockie Williams officiating. Interment in Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 24 and 10 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dillard, 85, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012. He was born to the late Lamon and Tinnie Grisham Dillard in Smith Co. He was educated at Club Springs School and Tuckers Crossroads. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for Bland Casket Company in Lebanon after returning home. In 1949 he went to work for the Coca Cola Bottling Company where he retired with 38 years of service. After his retirement, he was affiliated with Wilson County Motor Company for 18 years where he was affectionately known as “Roadrunner”.

He was preceded in death by: parents; step-mother, Maggie Vantrease Dillard; wife of 60 years, Frances June Willard; son-in-law, Mike Linton; great-granddaughter, Shaelynn Linton; and brother, Odell Dillard.

Survivors include: daughters, Debby (Marty) Beaver and Barbara Linton; grandsons, Brandon and Chris Linton; great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; numerous cousins; and close friends.

Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers.

Bill Charles Huff Jr.

Services for Mr. Huff will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Partlow Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bernie Ziehlsdorf officiating. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 22 and 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  

Mr. Huff, 45, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012. He was a member of the Baptist faith and a self-employed salesman.

He was preceded in death by: paternal grandparents, Charlie and Lena Huff; maternal grandparents, Perry and Daisy Lewis; mother, Shirley Jean Huff; and aunt, Dixie Taylor Huff.

Survivors include: father, Billy Charles Huff Sr.; mother of his children, Linda Miller; children, Lauren Lynette Huff and Billy Charles Huff III; sisters, Deborah  Huff and Joanie (Steve) Blevins; nieces, Courtney (Brian) Ferrell, Chelsea (Matthew) Watkins, Katie Blevins, Brittany and Jennifer Perner and Isabella Ferrell; nephews, Benjamin Maples and Jackson and Wesley Blevins; uncles, Tommy Harold and Bobby Dow (Jean) Huff; and aunt, Robbie (Garland) Apple.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Maples, Steve Blevins, Tommy Jr., Wayne, and Alan and Michael Huff. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Shelton and Brian Ferrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in Mr. Huff’s memory to New Leash on Life or Toys For Tots.

Raymond Armstrong Patton

Services for Mr. Patton will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon with Bro. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment in Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Patton, 89, died Monday, June 18, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Zella Armstrong Patton.

Survivors include: children, Elaine (Don) Skipworth, Lisa (Tim) McDonald and Larry Patton; brother, George Patton; grandchildren, Blake and Shelby McDonald, Mike (Karen) Bone, Cheryl (Mark) Lively, Donna (Billy) Ream and Troy (Allison) Skipworth; and great-grandchildren, Patton and Emerson Bone.

Nellie 'Irene' Dillard Shafer

Graveside Services for Ms. Shafer will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Gray officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, June 23 and 1-2:45 p.m. on Sunday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.

Ms. Shafer, 100, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Quality Care Nursing Home. Born in Wilson Co., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Sneed Dillard and Hattie Smith Dillard. She worked for many years at Welty's 5&10, and the Ben Franklin Stores for 28 years. She was a life-long member of the Fairview Baptist Church and faithfully worked in the nursery for over 42 years. 

She was preceded in death by: brothers and sisters, Ephram Otis Dillard, Julia Mai Dillard Moore Belcher, Rosie Dillard Shafer, Clara Dillard, Woodrow Dillard, Robert Dillard, Jennie Elizabeth Dillard Roberts, Ota Marie Dillard Corbin Shrum, Joseph Warner Dillard, Mildred Juanita Dillard DeArmond Fitton and William Edward Dillard.

Survivors include: children, Linda Joyce Shafer Myers of Clarksville, Gloria Maie Shafer (Richard) Gray and James Anthony (Brenda) Shafer, both of Lebanon; grandchildren, James Bruce (Rebecca) Myers of Portsmouth, Va., Joseph Carroll (Lecia) Myers of Ft. Benning, Ga., Melissa Danielle Gray (Will) Kinton of Maryville, Tenn., Stephanie Nicole Gray of Lebanon, Michael Scott (Tracy) Shafer of Carthage and Misty Dawn Shafer (Prentice) Odom of Lebanon; nine great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews and friend, Ms. John (Mary) Gray.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Johnson's Assisted Living and Quality Health Care for their loving, compassionate care for the last 10 years.

William Townsend Tomlinson

A Memorial Services for Mr. Tomlinson will be 6 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Interment will be in Palmyra, Ohio at a later date. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Tomlinson, 82, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 after a courageous year long battle with lung cancer. He was born in The Hampton’s, Long Island, N.Y. He graduated from Fort Lauderdale Flying “L’s” High School and attended Cornell University. He worked in the Family Owned Resort business on Long Island for many years during the summer months and wintered in South Florida. He was the owner of several businesses in Fort Lauderdale; The Oceania, Bill and BJ’s, BJ’s, The Top Gallant and the Life Line Lounge. He was affiliated with the Cotton Tail Lounge and Ireland’s Inn Hotel Resort. He retired from Ireland’s Inn in October, 2000 and joined his wife in Smith County on their KNB Farm. He later returned to work with Manheim Nashville Car Auction where he worked until May, 2011. He and his were authorized Pet Therapists for the Broward County Humane Society with their precious Pug, Bear.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Arthur Tomlinson and Marion Townsend Tomlinson; sister, Jean Tomlinson Amos; daughter, Judy Tomlinson; and one of his best friends, Wendall Kopp.

Survivors include: wife of 24 years, Kathy Tomlinson; children, Sandi (David) Archembeau of Coconut Creek, Fla., Shelley Tomlinson of Tampa, Fla. and William (Nancy) Tomlinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepchildren, Ann (Jim) Riffle, Hudson of Ohio, Jeff (Holly) Beatty of Macomb, Mich. and Laura (Mike) Donatelli of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Andrea Canora, Angela Canora, Billy Tomlinson, Michael (Mallory) Tomlinson, David Tomlinson, Amanda Riffle, Hannah Riffle, Ashley Beatty, Samantha Beatty, Emma Donatelli and Christian Donatelli; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Lee Fisher, who helped care for him for the past sick months; brother-in-law, Howard Amos; nephew, Randy (Judy Lindstrom) Foster; sister-in-law, Paula Battelli; special friends who helped with transportation during his treatments and visits, Carl Woods, Thomas Oakley and Joe and Becky Fuller; and is beloved furry companions, Opie, Bella, Lucky, Callie and Chester.

Special thanks to Dr. Crutcher, Dr. Campbell and staff of th SE Cancer Care Center, Dr. Kehunde, Dr. Peyton, the staff of Gallatin Health Care and all of his friends at the Manheim Nashville Car Auction for their prayers and well wishes.
