Lewis 'Lew' Chapman Gillett Jr.
A Celebration of Life concluding with Military Honors for Mr. Gillett will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, July 2, at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Interment will take place on a later date at a National Cemetery.
Mr. Gillett, 75, died Saturday, June 23, 2012. He was born in Ayer, Mass. in Nov. of 1936 to the late Martha Karner Gillett and Lewis C. Gillett II. He graduated from Hopkinton High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1955. After graduating from NAPS he received a fleet appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, graduating in 1960. He then served aboard the USS Essex as a Gunnery Officer. He went to flight school in Pensacola Fla. and received his Navy “Wings of Gold”. He then served as a flight instructor with VT-1. He was assigned duty with VA-86 as a single seat, single engine, jet attack pilot flying the A4 Skyhawk. He flew well over 50 missions over North Vietnam during his tour on the USS Independence on which he was a triple Centurion (over 300 carrier landings). His career with American Airlines began in 1968 while living in Bethel, Conn. He retired from American Airlines as a Captain after 27 years and moved to a farm in Lebanon.
Survivors include: parents; wife of 54 years, Anne; children, Linda (David) Katz of Westford, Mass., Donna (Kevin) Kraebel of Hong Kong and Lewis Chapman 'Kip' (Lisa) Gillett IV of Longmont, Colo.; siblings, Jane Hinckley, Judy Keefe, Carol Verschure and Robert Gillett; and grandchildren, Nick, Ben, Emma, Abby, Hannah, Drew and Daniel.

Services for Ms. Luttrell will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Wilson County Funeral Home. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Ms. Luttrell died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Summit Hospital.
Survivors include: daughters, Roberta Luttrell and Kathy (Jerry) Dean, both of Lebanon.
Ovie Gertrude Morgan
Services for Mrs. Morgan were Tuesday, June 26 at the Enon Missionary Baptist Church with Elder J. E. Shoulders officiating. Interment was in Enon Cemetery.
Mrs. Morgan, 79, of Hermitage and formerly of Lafayette, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon. She was born to the late Carlos Roosevelt Biles and Hattie Adams Biles. She grew up on a farm in the Enon Community in Macon Co. She was a member of Enon Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Goree Welch 'G.W.' Morgan; daughter, Carolyn Morgan Soens; sons-in-law, Thomas R. Soens and Jimmy Baker; and brother-in-law, Herman Rush.
Survivors include: daughter, Cathey Baker of Mt. Juliet; sister, Glenna Rush of Gamaliel, Ky.; grandchildren, Robert (Cathey) Dunn of Lebanon, Natasha (Darrin) Rogers of Mt. Juliet, Charity Keith of Kan., Elizabeth Dunn and Donald (B. J.) Dunn all of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Carolyn Dunn of Lebanon, Jeffrey (Brandy) Leeman of N.C., Jennifer Leeman of Murfreesboro, Adrianna Payton of Huntsville, Ala., Cody Keith of Mt. Juliet, and several other great-grandchildren; and neighbors, Charlotte and Jerry Powell.
Pallbearers were Robert Dunn, Darrin Roger, Billy King, Gary Lawson and Jeff and Troy Coleman.
Alexander Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
