James A. Burton
Funeral Services for Mr. Burton will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Butler officiating. Interment in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Burton, 90, of Mt. Juliet died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage. He was born in Wilson Co., to the late Ed and Emma Dale Peak Burton. He was a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He retired from Dupont and was a member of Laguardo Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Randall, Leslie, Harris and Robert Burton; and sisters, Gertrude Rawls, Clara Bates, Bernie Northern, Gracie George, Edna Smith, Eleanor Gray, Martha Crittenden and Cora Lee Clemmons.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pearl Green Burton.
Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
Clarence William 'Buster' Gibson
No services are planned for Mr. Gibson.
Mr. Gibson, 57, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Centennial Medical Center. He was employed by Extended Stay Motels as a maintenance engineer. He was born in June of 1955 in Indianapolis, Ind.
Survivors include: mother; wife, Shelia Gibson; son, James Richardson; three granddaughters; two sisters; and two brothers.

Rufus C. Harper
Services for Mr. Harper will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Bingham and the Rev. Billie Friel officiating. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 22 and 9 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Harper, 80, of Laguardo, died Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was born in the Rome Community of Smith Co. to the late Rufus Calhoun Harper Sr. and Maude Victoria McDonald Harper. He worked at Thompson & Green Machinery in Nashville for 38 years where he retired as a Field Service Supervisor and went on to work for Kimbro Oil for 17 years. He was a member of the West Hills Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Victoria Harper and Eva Mae Edmondson; and brother, James Harper.
Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Pauline Northern Harper; children, Linda (Carl) Melvin of Lebanon, William (Linda) Harper and Melvin (Shelley) Harper, all of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Carla (Bruce) Taub, Kelly Anderson, Matt Melvin, Colin (Ashley) Brady, Scott (Abbie) Harper and Jessica, Ryan and Jilly MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Anderson, Bradey Taub, Jordan, Jessica and Taryn Brady and Rufus Harper; sisters, Hazel Gray and Gloria McDaniel; friend, Shirley Tramel; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matt Melvin, Bruce Taub, Colin Brady, Scott Harper, Ryan MacDonald, Chris Harper and Larry McDaniel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fishers of Men Sunday school class of West Hills Baptist Church, the Rev. Eltis Brown, Steve Brown and Dr. John Cage.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons.
Euvonda Elaine Myers
Services for Mrs. Myers will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Hunter officiating. Interment in Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Saturday, July 21 and 11 a.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Myers, 64, of Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born in McMinnville, was a retired owner of Myers Communication and Verizon Wireless Retailer and a member of Mt. Juliet First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: father, Alva Robie Boren; and son, Greg Myers.
Survivors include: mother, Ila Vae Boren of McMinnville; husband, Bill Myers of Mt. Juliet; son, Jason (Kirsten) Myers of Brentwood; daughter, Stephanie (Jason) Parson of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Christopher, Gage and McKenna Myers and Eston and Emma Parson; and brothers, Ivin Norris Boren of Irving, Texas and Max Elton and Marsha Boren of Spring Hill.
Funeral Services for Mr. Strong will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Billie Friel, Michael Eubanks and Dr. Thomas Strong officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday, July 23 and 11 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Strong, 77, of Lebanon, died Friday, July 20, 2012, at Centennial Medical Center. He was born in Oct. of 1934 in Davidson Co. to the late Leslie and Lela Irwin Strong. He was a recording engineer for many years with RCA, Monument and Studio One. He went on to be the manager of Camp Linden for the Tennessee Baptist Convention for twenty years. Upon retirement, he spent the rest of his life in mission work. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by: parents; and sisters, Betty Shepherd and Margaret Helton.
Survivors include: wife of 56 years, Shirley Dixon Strong; children, Melodie (Jeff) Collier of Lebanon and Dr. Thomas (Jana) Strong of New Orleans, La; grandchildren, Luke and Andrew Collier and Kathryn and Nathan Strong; and sisters, Elizabeth Butler of Nashville and Doris Woodhouse of Calif.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray and Susie Byrd, Betty and J.B. Depriest, Bill and Pauline Boykin, Francine Sparkman, Bro. John Petree and nieces and nephews.

Fred Ellis Wright
Services for Mr. Wright will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet with the Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in Hollis-Wright Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 21 and 1 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wright, 96, of Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was a lifetime member of Laguardo Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII and retired in 1981 as Chief Administrator of Loan Services for the Veterans Administration. He was the son of the late Joseph Fred and Maggie Eagan Wright.
He was preceded in death by: parents; wife of 67 years, Margaret Jones Wright; brother, Lt. Joe Wright; and sister, Mary Alice Wright.
Survivors include: son, James 'Jim' (Valerie) Wright; daughters, Suzanne (Ken) Brown and Linda Bruce; brothers, Raymond and Glen (Jeanne) Wright; grandchildren, Dwayne and Chris Wright, Ange Cave, Jonny, Mike, Matthew and Joseph Bruce, Andy and Jake Brown and James Simpson; eight great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Harris, Tony Weitlauf and Marie Parrish.
