John Alexander Browne
Funeral services for Mr. Browne will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dr. William York officiating. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Saturday, July 7 and noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Browne, 79, died Thursday, July 5, 2012. He was born in June of 1933 in Wilson Co. to the late Robert Edward and Florence Baker Browne. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the City of Lebanon, where he worked as a mechanic. He was also employed by Lebanon Woolen Mills.
He was preceded in death by: parents; and sons, William Keith Browne and Brian Jonathan Browne.
Survivors include: wife of 59 years, Mildred Ann Day Browne; children, Jacqulin (Marty) Sullins of Lebanon, Robert Alexander Browne of Lebanon and Virginia Ann Hall of Lebanon; sister, Mary Edna Hodge of Lebanon; grandchildren, Leesha Sullins, Rebecca Sullins, Christy Hall, Jonathan Browne and Jeremy Lee Browne; and great-grandsons, Brandon Sullins and Aaron Hackney.
Services for Mr. Parker will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Frank and Dr. Jimmy Arms officiating. Interment will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Parker, 65, of Cookeville, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in the emergency room of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lebanon, to the late Henry Owen and Eva Lena Worley Parker. He was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He received his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from MTSU and served as music teacher, band director and golf coach in Lebanon High School. He later moved to Cookeville and served as manager at several area restaurants, including Ponderosa, Cracker Barrel and KFC.
He was preceded in death by: parents; and an infant brother, Jerry Jones Parker.
Survivors include: wife of 28 years, Gina McCrary Parker; daughters, Shalena (Eric) Mathews and Tasia Parker, all of Cookeville; sister, Kay Parker (Larry) Talley of Lebanon; nephew, Eric Maynard; and niece, Dena McDonald.
Pallbearers will be Larry Talley, Eric Maynard, Eric Mathews, Jacob and Thomas Brooks, Dean Worley, Betsy Riley, Phillip McDonald and Jimmy Phillips.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
