Emma Marie Carter

Funeral Services for Ms. Carter will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at J.C. Kirby & Son Chapel in Bowling Green, Ky. Interment in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 and 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ms. Carter, 40, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 in Bowling Green, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Sammie Carter Seay and a relative of Ms. Sarah Crawford of Market Street Church of Christ in Lebanon.

Jerry Spencer Trapp

Services for Mr. Trapp will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Bro. Phillip Lane officiating. Interment in Gordonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 and 9 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Trapp, 76, of Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at his home. He was born in the Long Branch Community of DeKalb Co. to the late Charlie Spencer Trapp and Amanda Eula Trapp. He was a 1954 graduate of Gordonsville High School and served his country during the Korean War. He worked for two years at Ross Gear, and for 31 ½ years at Dupont before retiring in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Dillon Trapp.

Survivors include: children, Elaine (Mike) Thomas and Wade Trapp, both of Alexandria; grandchildren, Jesse Duane Hawkins, Greg M., Stephen Carl (Brittany) and Kyle Spencer Thomas; and great-grandchild, Harmony Thomas.

Martin Michael Varela

Services for Mr. Varela will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17 and 10 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Varela, 26, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was a 2004 graduate of Lebanon High School and employed by Parker Seals as a machine tech.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Marjorie Petticord.

Survivors include: maternal grandparents, Roger and Sandra Schunke; mother, Tabatha (Mike) Fish; father, Martin (Doris) Varela; wife, Crissy Varela; son, Mason Michael Varela; brothers, Patrick, Oran and Cristiano Varela; sisters, Savannah Dymond Varela, Beligca Varela and Neives Varela; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
