Joel Ray Bowers
The family of Mr. Bowers will have memorial service Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Community Center at Burns Park, Kingston Springs, Tenn. A celebration of life service will immediately follow.
Mr. Bowers, 59, passed away at his home on Feb. 5, 2013, in Lebanon. Joel was born and raised in Donelson, where he graduated from McGavock High school in 1972. He was retired from American Airlines since 2008. He also owned and operated Joel Bowers Septic Pumping in Lebanon.
Joel is survived by his two children, Courtney Paige and Joshua Trey; mother, Jon Rhea Bowers; brothers,
Randy Bowers(alma), Mike Bowers; sister, Janice Lavendar(hardy) and Glynda Bowers, all of Kingston Springs and Jeannie Gayle (Jimmy) Hodges of Smyrna; eight nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Hubert "Dee" Bowers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Henley, Terry Jackson, Brian Gibson, Shayne Lavendar, Blake Bowers, Billy Birdwell, J.W. Hunt and Dale DeMoss.
Nashville Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby Floyd Kent
Mrs. Kent, of Lebanon, died Wednesday at The Pavilion.
Arrangements from Partlow Funeral Chapel are incomplete and will be released at a later date.
Timothy Ray Martin
Mr. Martin, 20, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, Mich. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Carmine Swingley Smith
Services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Friday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service. Bro. Gary McCaleb will officiate and interment will follow at Leeville Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith, 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was a U.S. Navy Veteran, retired from the State of Tennessee, and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, James L. and Ruby Swingley and husband, James Harold Smith. She is survived by sister, Patricia Swingley.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Michael Dean York
Private family services are planned.
Mr. York, 57, of Watertown, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage. He was born in Ft. Chaffee, Ark., son of the late Russell Dean York and Evelyn Lewis York. Michael was a retired shipping supervisor with International Paper and presently worked at Parkland Flea Market.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Venis York; son, Chris York and his wife, Amber of Mt. Juliet; daughter, Cheryl Merritt of Watertown; grandchildren, Gabriel and Connor York, Michael, Hunter and Kenzie Merritt; brother, Ray York of Watertown; sister, Susan Holt of Van Buren, Ark.; brother-in-law, Bobby Venis of Watertown; nieces, Melissa and Robin Holt.
