Funeral services for Mrs. Carter will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bobby Goode and Rev. Billie Friel officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carter, 97, of Mt. Juliet, died Sunday, June 16, 2013. Mrs. Carter was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and had worked in the cafeteria at Mt. Juliet High School for several years. She was the daughter of the late, Robert and Eather Brown Ferrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlton Carter; siblings, Oscar Ferrell, Thelma Wade, Avie Lannom, Rena Wade and Ona Robinson; and her son-in-law, Herman Toombs.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Toombs; grandchildren, Wendi (Rodney) Cathey and Toby (Terrie) Toombs; great-grandchildren, Caroline Cathey and Tucker Toombs.
Active pallbearers will be Toby Toombs, Rodney Cathey, Bill Hicks, Troy Smith, Wayne Carter, James Woodall and Noel Reese.
Valeria Ann Cunningham
Visitation for Mrs. Cunningham will be held on Tuesday, June 18 from 4-8 p.m. and
Wednesday, June 19 from 11 a.m. until funeral services at 1 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Bro. Bob Haley will officiate the service. Interment will be in Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cunningham, 78, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Quality Health Care Center. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of LaGuardo Church of Christ, a homemaker, and volunteer at Carroll-Oakland Elementary School for close to 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Naomi Ruth Abernathy Lokey; husband, Howard "Woody" Cunningham; sisters, Mary Moore and Julia Lokey.
She is survived by son, James Lewis (Beth) Cunningham; daughters, Linda (Jerrel) Hand and Alice Kimberly "Kim" Cunningham; brother, Jimmy (Carolyn) Lokey; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Family and friends to serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll-Oakland Elementary School students and staff.
Loyd Thomas “Tommy” Nokes Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Nokes were 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon, with Rev. Don McElroy, Rev. Terry Cathey, Rev. Nathan Hale, Clark Harrell and Dr. David Freeman officiating. Burial was in Wilson County Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.
Mr. Nokes, 77, of Murfreesboro, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his home. A native of Wilson county, he was the son of the late Loyd Thomas Nokes Sr. and Catherine Nokes. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jacob Lee Christiansen.
Mr. Nokes is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Nokes; sons, Thomas Eric Nokes and his wife Paula of Dickson and David Ethan Nokes and his wife Shani of Donelson; daughters, Catherine Amanda Van Vactor and her husband Dwain of Murfreesboro and Andrea Ruth Hale of Murfreesboro; sister, Shirley Ann Christiansen of Mt. Juliet; nephew, Shawn Christiansen of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Andrew Scott Nokes and his wife Allison, Rachel Nokes, Daxton Hale, Elijah Nokes and Josiah Nokes; great-grandchild, Alexis Nokes.
Active pallbearers were B.J. Reich, Kenny Reich, Bobby Johnson, Bob Evans, Kenneth Eskew, Charles Fitch, Shawn Christiansen and Andrew Nokes.
Honorary pallbearers were LHS Breakfast club, Byron Adams, Rodney English, Frank Garcia, Dwight Manning and the late William Gunter.
Mr. Nokes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon, a 1953 graduate of Lebanon High School and received his BS degree from MTSU. Mr. Nokes was an Underwriter Specialist with State Farm Insurance Company for 40 years before his retirement in 1995. He was a 33rd Degree mason and a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge 18 and was adviser to Troop 398 of the Boy Scouts of America for 15 years. Mr. Nokes was former Director of Music at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon, Woodbury Road Baptist Church, Southeast Baptist Church, Brinkley Road Baptist Church presently West Wood Baptist Church, Immanuel Baptist Church and Fosterville Baptist Church in Rutherford County.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Heather Webster Thompson
The family of Mrs. Thompson will be receiving friends at the Mt. Juliet Family Worship Center at 495 N. Mt. Juliet Rd, Mt. Juliet TN, 615-758-5050 on Monday from 2-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Funeral services, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars and Brother John Petree, are 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the church. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery.
Heather Thompson, age 26, passed away on June 14, 2013. She was a 2005 graduate of Gordonsville High School and a 2007 graduate of Vol State. Heather was an active member of 4-H, very competitive, accomplished with sheep and other livestock in the show-ring, where she won numerous events. She also participated in livestock judging. Her greatest desire was to be a mother.
Survivors include her husband, Zachary Thompson, of Lebanon; children, Baylor Rhea and Bryce Gregory Thompson; parents, Mark and Charlotte Webster, of Brush Creek; sister, Larissa (Taz) Thompson Everett, of Watertown; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Farley, of Lebanon; grandparents, Doyle and Willette Webster, of Brush Creek, Ricky and Betty Jane Barrett, of Alexandria; great-grandmother, Lottie Cook, of Alexandria; nieces and nephews, Zoei, Zayne, and Zayden Thompson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Greg Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Justin Gregory, Jade Sellars, Jon Mason, Trent Hammontree, Shawn Holloway, Chad Thompson, Shannon Malone and Bobby Farley. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Pope, Randall Mason, Mandy and Robbie Dixon, Kenneth and Gay Ensey, Tonya Gregory and the staff at Quality Care.
