Ralph Edgar “Ed” Smiley
Funeral services for Mr. Smiley will be held Thursday, Oct. 4 at 11 am at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Pastor Randy Cook officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Mike Ayers, Bob Derrick, Steve Cootes, Bubba Robertson, Marc Nelson and Hunter Smiley serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, October 3rd from 2-8 pm and one hour prior to the service.
Ralph Edgar “Ed” Smiley, age 59 of Antioch, passed away Oct. 1, 2012. Mr. Smiley was preceded in death by parents, Horace Edgar and Ruth Francis Smiley. He is survived by children, Eddie (Carrie) Smiley, Christie Smiley and Michael (Tiffany) Smiley; brother, William (Jane) Smiley; sister, Linda Hughes; grandchildren, Connor and Tylor Smiley and Austin Strong; and nephews, Hunter Smiley and John and Ray Hughes. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Alive Hospice. Memorial contributions may be made to Donelson Christian Academy and Friendship Christian School.

Joe Fred Suddarth
Joe Fred Suddarth, age 80, of Gallatin, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Hartsville Convalescent Center.
A lifelong resident living on Ross Avenue, Mr. Suddarth was a retired cabinet maker. He was also a retired U.S. Air Force sergeant and a Korean War veteran.
Born on Oct. 5, 1931 in Westmoreland, one of eight siblings, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nellie Louise Suddarth; his parents, Oscar and Annie Rebecca Suddarth; three brothers, Wilburn, Doug, and Oscar Jr.; two sisters, Dorothy Trout, and Martha Jane Cherry; and a grandson, Scottie Gee. Mr. Suddarth is survived by his son, Sandy (Dora) Suddarth of Macon County; brother Elvis Suddarth of Gallatin; sister Willie Ann Perry of Gallatin; three grandchildren, Joseph M. Suddarth of Mobile, Alabama, Barbara (Donnie) Hendrickson of Gallatin, and Brenda (Donald) Alpert of Spencer, New York; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, from 2-8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. until time of service. A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 5 at Sumner Memorial Gardens with Brother John Meador officiating. Mr. Suddarth will be buried with full military honors.
Christopher Don Strader
A celebration of life memorial service for Mr. Strader will be Wednesday at Global Vision Church at 260 Old Lebanon Dirt Road in Mt. Juliet.
Christopher Don Strader died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2012. He was born March 13, 1983.
Strader was preceded in death by Arville Hannah Jr., Paulette Murray, Annie and Don Strader. He is survived by his parents, Paula and Charles Lilly and Marcus Strader; sisters, Christen and Crystal Strader.
