Pace earns All-America honors

Cumberland senior and Nashville native Jessica Pace was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NAIA coaches’ honorable mention All-America team on Tuesday, as released by the WBCA.
The voting committee for the award is comprised of one representative from each of the nine geographical regions and a chairperson.
Pace leads the Bulldogs in points (12.8) and rebounds (8.0) and ranks second in assists (2.2). The 5-foot-8 forward has registered 21 double-figure scoring games with nine double-digit rebounding efforts and seven double-doubles in 29 contests.
She earned first-team Mid-South Conference honors and was voted Mid-South Player of the Week after helping the squad win the conference tournament on March 3, averaging 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in three victories, including 16 points and 14 boards in the championship game against Campbellsville.
Cumberland opens play in the 33rd Annual NAIA National Tournament on Thursday at 5:15 CDT against Coastal Georgia at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.
