Road projects list released for Wilson County
The Tennessee Department of Transportation on Thursday released a list of road construction projects happening in Wilson County through the end of October.
A widening project on Interstate 40 will continue through Wednesday from Central Pike to east of State Route 109 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m., excluding Sunday. TDOT officials said alternating lane closures will take place eastbound and westbound for saw cutting asphalt for median sign-footing excavation. One lane will remain open in each direction.
Resurfacing is also expected to take place on State Route 171 from U.S. 41 to the Wilson County line through Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. Alternating temporary lane closures along a stretch of about six miles will take place to allow workers to install guardrail and perform microsurfacing.
Through Wednesday from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., the northbound lane of State Route 109 at the Cumberland River Bridge at the Wilson County line with Sumner County will be closed to pour concrete. The southbound lane may alternatively close for road construction.
Alternating lane closures will take place through Wednesday from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Interstate 40 westbound at mile-marker 240.8 to unload DMS sign supports.
Through Sunday, rolling roadblocks will take place from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on I-40 at mile-marker 240.8. TDOT officials said delays wouldn’t be longer than 30 minutes.
