Tornado sirens not heard by many
MT. JULIET – Several people in Mt. Juliet reported they did not hear tornado sirens warn them prior to an EF2 tornado that ripped through the Lebanon Road area Wednesday at 3:25 a.m.
"I had so many phone calls asking why they didn't go off, or why they could not be heard," said City Commissioner Ray Justice, who represents the district hit by the tornado.
Wilson Emergency Management Agency Capt. Steve Spencer said there were four tornado warnings predawn Wednesday and he personally hit the button to sound the sirens for each one.
