West, Wall lead MJCA to opening win

From staff reports

COLUMBIA — Trevor West and Brandon Wall scored two goals apiece Thursday night as Mt. Juliet Christian climbed from behind to edge host Zion Christian 4-3 in the Saints' season opener.

Wall, who didn't play soccer last year to focus on basketball, scored on second-half assists from West and Landon Loyd. Loyd's pass broke a 3-3 tie in the 62nd minute.

West, who converted a Wall pass into a 1-0 lead nine minutes in, converted a penalty kick in the 56th minute after an intentional hand ball in the goal that stopped a shot to put Mt. Juliet Christian up 3-2.
