West Wilson baseball, softball bass fishing tourney Oct. 6

A bass fishing tournament benefitting the West Wilson Middle School baseball and softball programs will be held Oct. 6 on Percy Priest Lake out of Elm Hill Marina in Nashville. The winner will receive a $3,000 prize. Entry fee is $110 per boat, with a big fish pot $10 per team. The tournament will be officiated by the Tennessee Bass Federation Natino. MJHS softball camp Oct. 2-4

Upward Basketball signups extended until Oct. 12

MJ Tennis tournament Oct. 15

The Mt. Juliet Tennis Association will host its annual tournament/fundraiser Oct. 15 at Charlie Daniels Park. Space is available for only 48 players. Check-in time will be from 8:30-9 a.m. with breakfast being served. Warmups will be from 9-9:15 with matches running from 9:30-noon. A luncheon and awards ceremony will follow. A $30 entry fee includes play time, balls, player gifts, snacks, breakfast and lunch. There will also be a silent auction throughout the day. Junior/Senior Pro Basketball signups Oct. 27

The City of Lebanon Junior/Senior Pro Basketball signups will be held from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Harold Dean Greer Recreation Center in Baird Park. Those who cannot make it to signing day may pre-register before Oct. 27 by coming by the Rec Center from 7:30 a.m-4:30 p.m. weekdays [closed from 11 a.m-noon for lunch]. The program is for boys and girls age 6 [as of Aug. 1 of this year] through eighth-grade who live in Wilson County. Children in the seventh- or eighth-grade who are part of a junior high or junior-varsity team are not eligible for this league.
