Watertown worn out by Eagles

WATERTOWN — Westmoreland put Watertown away with 12 runs in the top of the second inning Thursday as the Eagles flew off with a 15-3 thumping at Three Forks Park.
The Eagles wiped out a 2-1 Watertown lead with the big inning to chase left-hander Justin Breece. Westmoreland accumulated 10 hits against Breece, who failed to retire a batter in the second inning, and Adam Martin, who fired the final four frames.
Teddy Kowalski drove in a pair of runs on a 3-for-3 day for Westmoreland.
Ethan Patterson and Caleb Hughes had the Purple Tigers' two hits.
Watertown will travel to Smithville today for a 5 p.m. game at DeKalb County.
