Wildcats win Wills Valley Shootout championship

Wilson Central High traveled all the way to Ft. Payne, Ala. to beat Middle Tennessee rival Beech High School in the finals of the Wills Valley Shootout Saturday.
The Wildcats won the championship 67-40 to take their record to 8-4.
Wilson Central led at the half 46-28 and carried the momentum forward for a win.
The Wildcats' leading scorer, Kody Woodard, put up 22 points, twice that of Beech's Peyton Townley, who posted 11 for the night.
Woodard and teammate JaJuan Brooks made the All-Tournament Team. Brooks, the second-leading scorer for the Wildcats, put up 14 points.
Daniel Palmer fired in 9 points, Travis Adkins 7 and Jarvis Jenkins 4. Kelten Stewart and Teraes Clemmons scored 3 and two points respectively.
Wilson Central will travel to Knoxville for the Pilot Classic and Knoxville Catholic High School on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
