Cure for Our Friends golf tourney brings star power

Golfers will tee up for a cure Saturday in Mt. Juliet.

The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will again hold its Cure for Our Friends golf tournament at Mt. Juliet’s Windtree Golf Club.

The star-studded event will feature more than a dozen former  NFL players and Olympian soccer players showing their golf skills on the course.

Players include Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Mason, Rayna Stewart and Donnie Nickey; the Buffalo Bills’ Paul Guidry and Jimmy Robinson; the Cleveland Browns’ Oliver Davis; the San Francisco 49ers’ James Johnson; New York Giants Coach Eddie Khayat; U.S. Soccer Hall-of-Famer Desmond Armstrong; U.S. Soccer Olympian Brent Goulet and more.

Tennessee Titans cheerleaders will be also be on hand.

After the golf will be an after-party featuring music from The Skahls, Sam the Balloon Man, face painting, food and a silent auction.

Silent auction items include Southwest round-trip tickets and a stay at a Panama City Beach condo.
