Lane closures planned for road construction in Wilson County

Staff Reports • Sep 22, 2017 at 2:27 PM

A handful of road construction projects will require lane closures in the near future across Wilson County, according to Tennessee Department of Transportation officials.

Temporary lane closures will take place daily from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on State Route 171 from the Interstate 40 exit to Division Street in Mt. Juliet for paving. One lane will remain open.

Traffic signal installation will also cause alternating outside lane closures at East Baddour Parkway at the intersection of Bluebird Road and C.L. Manier Street and signal timing from East Baddour Parkway to Tennessee Boulevard daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in Lebanon. The project includes drilling foundations and installation of road crossing conduit. One lane will remain open.

On Saturday from 3 p.m. until 6 a.m., a road closure will take place at State Route 452 to allow for filming in front of the Nashville Superspeedway. Large barricades with blinker lights will be in place, and police officers will be posted at each barricade area to ensure safety and detour traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity. Most work is weather dependent and subject to change due to inclement weather.
