Four hundred people came to Saturday night’s Notes for Nurses event at the Savage Aviation Hangar at the Lebanon Municipal Airport.

The event was held to raise money for Cumberland University’s Rudy School of Nursing, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Seats were sold for $50 per person for general admission or $75 per person for general admission plus after-party admission.

The money raised from the event will go to buy simulation equipment for the nursing school’s newest classroom area, an abandoned floor in its current building.

The area was dedicated by Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon and will be used as a simulation area where students will work with lifelike models.

Some of the money raised will also go toward providing incoming students with scholarships. In the last four years, five students were awarded nursing advisory council nursing scholarships at $3,000 each.

The speakers at Saturday night’s event included Cumberland University president Paul Stumb and nursing department interim president Dr. Joy Kimbrell.

A live band also provided music for the event.
