Bob Pergler was an adult nominee in Wilson County for the Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards.

Pergler served as a responder for REHAB 23 since the organization’s inception in fall 2013. REHAB 23 is a support system to first responders in Wilson County during extended emergency events such as structure fires, Hazmat emergencies or SWAT team events. REHAB 23 offers relief from climatic conditions, rehydration, food and rest and recovery.

For the first year, he was one of two team leaders and led a team of 12 responders. In January 2015, he joined the board of directors as operations officer. As a new organization, there was a need for someone to step up and ensure REHAB 23 was doing the right things to support the more than 600 first responders in Wilson County. For the past three years, as operations officer, Pergler was a major contributor to all of the group’s monthly meetings. He ensures all three response units are in good mechanical working order and REHAB 23 has all the supplies needed to respond.

Pergler is proactive in communications with 30 responders and keeps all the records relative. Wilson Bank & Trust recently sponsored plaques given to Wilson County Governor’s Stars Awards nominees. Pictured with Pergler are Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto and Pergler’s wife.
