Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Murfreesboro native Titus Williams to scholarship papers this week for the 2017-18 academic year, becoming the third CU signee for next season.

Williams is a four-year cross country letter-winner for coach Phil Young, helping the Stars to a 12th-place team showing at this year’s TSSAA State Championships. He finished 124th with a 5K time of 18:22.13. Williams placed 106th as a junior in 18:16.28 and 89th as a sophomore in 18:08.61. He has also lettered in track at SHS.

He is the son of John Williams and Michelle Stewart. Williams joined Joel Barlow (Wilson Central) and Tim Vanjohnson Jr. (Powder Springs, Ga.) in this year’s recruiting class.
