Career fair upcoming on Cumberland campus

Cumberland University’s office of career services and internships will hold a free career fair open to students and alumni, as well as the public, Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. 

The main fair will be in Memorial Hall’s Baird Chapel, while a fair for those interested in health care employment will be in the Dallas Floyd Gymnasium.

Attendees may seek full- or part-time jobs, paid and unpaid internships and volunteer opportunities. Some employers will hold interviews on the spot, so attendees are asked to come prepared. 

Employers scheduled to attend the main career fair in Baird Chapel are Powers Management, Mary Kay, Under Armour, Lebanon Publishing Co., Benson Orthodontics, Ryman Hospitality, Empower Me Center, Aramark, Integrity Staffing , Chick-fil-A, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Waffle House, Wilson County Motors, Modern Woodmen of America, Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Audit Division, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Hickory Hill Farm, TN Sports, Prospect, Inc. , Laura L.L. Wood, Life Coach/Consulting, Metal Moulding, Home Instead Senior Care, Education Solutions Services, TA Staffing, Centerstone, U.S. Marines, Girls Scouts, Goodwill, Edward Jones Financial, Wilson County government, Corrections Corp. of America, Habitat Nashville, Wilson Bank, Peyton Hosale – Arbonne, Northwestern Mutual, Sheila Music – Hilton, Abacus Corp., Wilson Bank – Vickie Shrum and State Farm – Chris Slaughter 

Health care employers scheduled to attend the career fair in the Dallas Floyd Gymnasium are Centennial Medical Center, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Southern Hills Medical Center, Skyline Medical Center, Summit Medical Center, St. Thomas Health, Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Alive Hospice in Nashville, Air Force, Corizon Health, Guardian Healthcare, Livingston Regional Hospital – HPHS, Maury Regional Health, Tennessee Army National Guard, U.S. Navy, Southern Manor Living Center of Lebanon, U.S. Army and VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System.

“We want to ensure that our students have the firsthand experience to be well-rounded individuals who are capable and confident as they enter the workforce,” said Courtney Vick, director of Cumberland’s career services and internships. 

Cumberland’s office of career services and internships assists students and alumni with creating resumes, finding and posting employment, conducting mock interviews for job preparedness, as well as assisting students with internship placements.
