The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will hold its first Community Day of Service on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon at four sites in Mt. Juliet.

The event will feature four community service projects throughout Mt. Juliet in hopes of making a difference in the community.

Providence Place at 1020 Charlie Daniels Pkwy., Carrick Glen at 100 Carrick Court and the Mt. Juliet Nursing home will include cleaning buses, walkers, wheelchairs and a manicure station.

Arby’s at 245 N. Mt. Juliet Road will a mural of Mt. Juliet that will be painted on the wall. However, event organizer Brenda Dixon said that project is full.

“We’re just hoping to get other churches in the area involved, even if they just pick a project and do something for the community,” said Dixon, who said the project day would return next year.

Dixon also pointed interested people to justserve.org, which connects volunteers with various efforts and projects.

“We just want churches and groups to join in to make a difference,” Dixon said.
