The Lebanon City Council will review several ordinances and discuss a proposed donation to the American Red Cross at its monthly meeting Tuesday.

The council will discuss an ordinance to approve a budget amendment that would allow the group to donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief on behalf of the council.

Mayor Bernie Ash will present the proposal, which was already informally agreed upon Sept. 5, and the council will vote on the donation.

An authorization to widen Highway 109 is also on the council’s agenda.

The road has long been a topic of discussion due to the many wrecks and high traffic volume. Lebanon Public Works director Jeff Baines will submit the proposal to the council.

As an add-in item to the agenda, the council will discuss a proposal to loan $750,000 within the budget from the water and sewer fund to the general fund.

If approved, the money will be dedicated to make infrastructure improvements within the city limits.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Town Meeting Hall at 200 N. Castle Heights Ave. A public hearing will be at 5:55 p.m.
