Ripley man arrested on voter fraud charges

A Ripley man was arrested on voter fraud charges Tuesday in connection with the November 2016 election.

At the request of former 25th District Attorney Michael Dunavant, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation special agents began an investigation into the November 2016 voting activities of Rupert Rogers, 58, of Ripley.

Rogers was arrested Tuesday on voter fraud charges stemming from the incident. He is charged with improper registration or voting and false entries on voter documents and was booked in at the Lauderdale County Jail on $5,000 bond.
