Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage concluded a month-long commemoration of Black History Month on Saturday with its annual memorial service to honor those who were enslaved at the Hermitage and throughout the country.

The Princely Players performed a musical timeline of African-American music, from arrival to the Americas to emancipation.

The performance concluded with a procession to the enslaved memorial behind the Hermitage Church. Attendees participated in the service by laying 150 flowers, marked with the names of all those known to have been enslaved at the Hermitage.
