Lebanon police officer involved in crash

A Lebanon police officer was involved in a crash Monday afternoon at mile marker 235 on Interstate 40.

According to Lebanon police Sgt. P.J. Hardy, the officer was checking on another crash due to possible standing water at about 4:45 p.m. when his vehicle was hit.

The officer and his police dog, which was in the vehicle with him, were not hurt in the crash, but the driver of the other car involved was injured.

The accident remained under investigation by Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers.
