Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents investigated the circumstances that led to an officer-involved shooting early Tuesday morning in Fairview.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. at 7125 Hill Hughes Road and involved two Fairview police officers.

Initial reports indicated the two officers responded to a disturbance call at the address and encountered a man with a gun outside the home.

The preliminary investigation indicated when the man was non-compliant with the officers’ commands, one officer used his Taser.

The Taser was ineffective, and the man drew his gun, prompting one of the officers to shoot the man, killing him.

The victim’s identity wasn’t released. No officers were injured during the incident.

TBI agents responded to the scene, and the investigation remained active.
