Vetter inks with Phoenix soccer

Cumberland women’s soccer coach Brian Davies announced the signing of Murfreesboro native Kenzi Vetter to scholarship papers this week for the 2018-19 academic year, becoming the first signee for the Phoenix for next season.

Vetter scored 12 goals with 12 assists as a sophomore and collected 10 goals and 11 assists as a junior at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro. She earned second team All-District 7-AAA and second team all-area honors as a freshman and first team all-district and first team all-area accolades as a sophomore and junior for the Blaze.

She is the daughter of Barry and Lora Vetter. Her father played baseball at Middle Tennessee and is the current baseball coach at Blackman as well as the former coach at Smyrna High School, where he tutored current major leaguer Sonny Gray. Also, her sister, Holly, played collegiate soccer at Tennessee Wesleyan.
