Mt. Juliet Christian Academy drama students will present their fall production of “It’s a Wonderful Life” – offered during two performances only.
Performances will be Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and will be available at the door before each performance.
Based on the 1946 film directed by Frank Capra, “It’s a Wonderful Life” tells the story of George Bailey, a selfless and generous man who has lived his whole life to put the needs of others ahead of himself. When the play opens, Bailey is at an all-time low, because everything in his life is falling apart. His prayers are answered when God sends Clarence Odbody, Bailey’s guardian angel, to convince him that he, in fact, had a truly blessed and wonderful life.
At its heart, “It’s a Wonderful Life” is a story about love, friendship and family. Bailey is a hero for everyman because his acts of kindness, courage and selflessness show him when the cards are stacked against him there still is hope. As Odbody tells Bailey, “Remember, no man is a failure who has friends.” And in that aspect, Bailey is the richest man in Bedford Falls.
Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is at 735 N. Mt. Juliet Road.
