The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning from Friday at 11 p.m. until Saturday at 11 a.m. for Wilson County and all of Middle Tennessee.
Forecasters said the coldest air so far this season is expected to roll into Middle Tennessee this weekend. Freezing temperatures are forecast for all of Middle Tennessee Friday night and early Saturday morning, with a hard freeze possible in some areas.
According to forecasters the lowest temperatures are expected to be between 24-29 degrees. Sensitive plants left outdoors will likely be killed. The period of freezing temperatures could be up to 10 hours long in some areas.
A freeze warning means subfreezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. A hard freeze is considered to be temperatures of 27 degrees or less. The conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
