Austen Gore scored all 13 of his points in the first half Thursday night to power Walter J. Baird’s boys to a 50-32 home win over West Wilson.
Gore sank two of his three 3-pointers in the first half as the Blue Devils bolted to a 17-4 lead. It was 25-15 at halftime and 41-26 through three periods.
Jaylen Abston and Mason Tisdale each scored seven points for Baird while Aidan Donald finished with five; Christian Frewin, Rubin Brinkley and Ke’Jon Wood three apiece, Grayson Gallentine two and Jakari Orange a free throw.
Sean Aldridge threw in 13 points and Braiden Staten 10 for West Wilson. Cade Mahoney and Tyler Williams each had three, Braydon Gooch two and Isaac Schafer a free throw.
Baird will travel to Mt. Juliet’s Tommy Martin Gym on Monday for a 6 p.m. girls/boys double header.
Aviators soar past Southside
Winfree Bryant’s boys defeated host Southside 39-18 Thursday night.
The Aviators led 10-3 following the first quarter, 20-6 at halftime and 24-14 through three periods as they improved to 3-0, all on the road.
Forward Keion Irby tossed in 12 points and guard Hunter Harris had 10 for Winfree Bryant. LaQuarrius Talley scored seven, Jackson Lea four and Kaelin Horton, Evan Shipp and JaMichael Rivers two each.
Tavin Hardin scored six for Southside while Easton Forsyth finished with five, Wyatt Bowling four and Quin Long three.
The Aviators will play their home opener Monday night when Watertown pays a visit with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m. Southside will play host to Forks River at the same time.
