Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Murfreesboro native Sarah Sneed to scholarship papers for the 2019-20 academic year.
Sneed has lettered four years in cross country and three in track for coaches Stephen Williams and Ricky Field at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro. She qualified for the state cross country championships all four years for the Warriors and reached the state track meet in the 1,600-meters as a freshman and sophomore.
She is the daughter of Steve and Amanda Sneed.
“We are very happy to add Sarah to our program, as she has consistently been one of the best distance runners in the mid-state starting in her freshman year at Riverdale,” Seckel said. “With the three women we have graduating this year, we need Sarah to step in and be a scorer for us immediately and she is perfectly equipped to do that. She is a perfect fit for what we are looking for.”
