Janice Elaine Frye passed away on July 21, 2020 with family by her side.

She was born December 16, 1945 in Hartsville, Tennessee, the daughter of Dewey Odell and Zona Vance Frye. Upon graduation from Trousdale County High School, Janice took a position with the State of Tennessee. She retired from the Department of Revenue, Petroleum Tax Division after more than 45 years of service.

In addition to enjoying her lifelong career, Janice enjoyed reading, television and crafting blankets for many of her nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Big Janice.” She will be greatly missed by her family.

Janice is survived by: her brother, Jack Frye of Hendersonville; sisters, Josephine Milligan of Stockbridge, GA and Betty Briley of Hartsville. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Bob (Candy) Gregory, Dawn Hunter, Suzanne (Paul) Wells, Richard Frye, Bonnye (Mark) Beeler, Herbie McKee, Ramsey Frye, Roland Frye, Diana (Bob) Robinson, Donna Jo (Olin) Dillard, Gina (Kenny) Hughes, Joy Gray (Gary Sullivan) and Jan (Eddie) Nunley; several great & great-great nieces & nephews and one great-great-great nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gilbert (Faye) Frye, J.R. (Sue) Frye; sisters, Evelyn Frye (Raymond) Gregory and Sue Frye (Mack) McKee; sister-in-law, Brenda Frye; brother-in-law, Don Milligan; nephew, Tommy Frye and great nephew Josh Hughes.

There will be a graveside service at the Hartsville Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 1.
