The dream of the Trousdale County Lady Jackets to compete in a state tournament came up one game short as they lost 6-2 at home to Eagleville in the sectionals on Saturday before a large crowd.
Trousdale County’s Yellow Jackets hung tough in the District 6-A Tournament with a second-place finish, but their trip to South Pittsburg on Monday resulted in a season-ending 7-3 loss to the Pirates in the Region 3-A semifinals.

Trousdale County’s Lady Jackets repeated as champions of the District 6-A softball tournament, claiming their second title on Saturday with a 6-0 victory over Gordonsville in South Carthage.
Trousdale County hosted Van Buren County on Monday in a Region 3-A semifinal, and the Lady Jackets clawed their way to a 3-2 victory in nine innings.
Trousdale County played four baseball games in the District 6-A Tournament last week, winning two and losing two en route to a runner-up finish and a trip to the Region 3-A semifinals.

The Trousdale County Yellow Jackets baseball team completed a season sweep of Red Boiling Springs last week with a 12-0 road victory on March 23.
Katie Shockley, a seventh-grader at Jim Satterfield Middle School, was recently named to the James C. Haile All-State Tournament team.
Plans for a sports complex in Lebanon have been in the works for some time now, but a new wrinkle in the plan may make it more economically feasible for the city. Lebanon’s sport complex design committee is now exploring partnering on the project with Cumberland University.

Trousdale County extended its mastery of Red Boiling Springs on the baseball field, extending its win streak in the series to 22 in a row with a 12-2, six-inning victory over the Bulldogs on Monday.

The nine Blue Cross Bowl football state title games will head to Chattanooga for the next two seasons as the TSSAA Board of Control voted 11-1 in favor of Chattanooga at their meeting at Siegel High School on Tuesday.

The Trousdale County Lady Jackets softball team is eager for the opportunity to defend its district championship after the COVID-19 pandemic denied them that chance in 2020.
Trousdale County’s 2021 baseball season will start next week when the Jackets travel to Watertown on Monday, followed by a meeting in Hartsville on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Trousdale County freshman Rob Atwood completed his first season wrestling for the Yellow Jackets with a fourth-place finish at last week’s Class A/AA State Tournament on Feb. 24 in Chattanooga.
The Trousdale County Yellow Jackets (12-7) had their sights set on a top-four finish in the District 6-A Tournament and a region tournament appearance, but those goals fell to the wayside with a 59-51 home loss to the Monterey Wildcats (10-17) on Feb. 22.
