There is an old saying that few things in life are certain except death and taxes. A playoff matchup between Trousdale County and Watertown may just be ready to be added to that list.
Trousdale County is sending another athlete to the college ranks after softball player Alivia Boykin signed a scholarship on Nov. 18 with Columbia State Community College.
Trousdale County will make its 20th appearance in the semifinal round of the playoffs on Friday night when the Yellow Jackets make a long drive to East Tennessee to face the Hampton Bulldogs.
Jim Satterfield’s basketball teams had two nights of action last week, with each squad winning one and losing one.

Playing perhaps their most complete game of the season, Trousdale County advanced to the Class 2A quarterfinals with a 16-8 stunner of top-ranked and undefeated Meigs County on the Tigers’ home field in Decatur.
It’s “déjà vu all over again” this week for Trousdale County, as the Yellow Jackets will travel to Watertown for a quarterfinal matchup for the fourth consecutive year.

Trousdale County’s home game against Gordonsville was selected by fans as the “Titans Game of the Week” and it certainly did not disappoint as the Yellow Jackets (7-0) edged the Tigers (7-1) 28-24 on the Creekbank.

Trousdale County raced out to a 35-0 lead early in the second quarter, then emptied its bench as the Yellow Jackets (6-0, 3-0 4-2A) rolled to a 54-34 victory over the Harpeth Indians (3-4, 0-3) on Friday night.
One of the state’s premier games this week will take place on the Creekbank when unbeaten Trousdale County takes on an undefeated Gordonsville squad.
