Mt. Juliet's Brown named MTSU Male Athlete of the Year

Former Mt. Juliet High pitcher Aaron Brown has been named Male Athlete of the Year at Middle Tennessee State. The right-hander, classified as a junior, led Conference USA with 113 strikeouts, which ranks sixth in school history. He was named to the all-conference tournament team and second-team all-conference as he went 7-5 with a 3.99 earned-run average in 14 appearances, all starts with a team-high three complete games. He earned weekly awards from the conference and the Tennessee Sports Writers Association. Brown and former Wilson Central infielder Gabe Jennings were two of five Blue Raiders who posted 4.0 grade-point averages during the spring semester.
