Visitation for Mrs. Suddarth will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a celebration of life service at noon at Elkton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Suddarth was born Oct. 22, 1934 in Lebanon. She left this earthly life to go to her eternal home in heaven on Oct. 24, 2018. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 61 years, the Rev. William T. Suddarth Jr.; and parents, Andrew Darnell and Paralee Miggett Kolbe.
Frances leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Harrison, son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Jamie Suddarth; three grandchildren, Heather (Jonathan) Downs, Adam (Karen) Suddarth, Sarah Suddarth; six great-grandchildren, Landon, Owen, Levi and Jack Suddarth, Jacob and Emma Downs; two sisters, Louise Jones, Annie Sue (Joe) Patton; and one brother, Jack Kolbe, all of Lebanon. She also leaves behind several family members, including nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.
Frances was a devoted mother, pastor’s wife and teacher of 33 years. Thirty-one of those years she taught at Elkton Elementary School in Elkton. After the passing of her husband, she continued her faithful service to her Lord and Savior at Elkton Baptist Church. As one of her former students said, “She was the kindest, most caring teacher I’ve ever had. She loved teaching children the school curriculum but most of all she loved teaching them about Jesus.” She will be missed, but her witness is not over.
Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in Pulaski is in charge of arrangements for Frances Kolbe Suddarth.
